Training and Technology
Dr. Omura spent three extra years after dental school to become a Prosthodontic specialist. Meaning he received thorough training in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD). His skill and knowledge base as a specialist was recognized when he passed rigorous testing to become board-certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. This is a designation held by only 40% of prosthodontists nationally.
Dr. Omura has implemented many state of the art techniques from his training to his practice. Using 3-dimensional imaging, Dr. Omura is able to plan the desired prosthetic and surgical outcome before any irreversible implant procedures ever take place (Fig.1). By eliminating guesswork, increased predictability, success, and safety can be expected for the patients he treats.
Customized Care
The needs and problems for each individual can vary dramatically, so a significant amount of time and energy is taken to understand each patient’s goals for treatment. From there, treatment plans are tailored to address the problems found and the specific functional and esthetic desires of each patient.
Dr. Omura understands that complex care can be a significant investment in both time and money. That is why he elects to use prototypes (often made in wax) to customize teeth to fit each person’s smile. Often times the prototype can then be tried in to “test drive” the look and feel of the final result before any procedure takes place. The goal is always to achieve efficient, predictable, highly esthetic and functional outcomes.
