Dr. Omura is a native of Kailua, HI and received his undergraduate Biology degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the prestigious Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR. During his time there, he developed a keen interest in restorative dentistry and received multiple awards including the William Howard Memorial Award, the American College of Prosthodontists Predoctoral Student Prosthodontic Achievement Award, the Quintessence Award for Excellence in Restorative Dentistry, and OHSU Alumni Scholarship for Excellence.
After graduating, Dr. Omura worked as a general dentist before deciding to further his future goals as a clinician by pursuing the specialty of prosthodontics. After being accepted to a handful of programs, Dr. Omura decided to enter a three year specialty program in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Tennessee. There he had the privilege to serve a diverse patient population with complex restorative needs under the guidance of highly skilled specialists. Receiving extensive training in both the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant therapy, computer-guided surgery, as well as other complex restorative procedures. Dr. Omura was also involved in research pertaining to dental bio-materials. Upon completion, he earned his Prosthodontic specialty certificate, Masters of Dental Sciences (MDS), and Certificate in Dental Technology (CDT). Shortly thereafter, Dr. Omura successfully passed rigorous testing to become board certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics (FACP). This is a designation held by only 40% of prosthodontists nationally. Dr. Omura is the only board certified prosthodontist in all of Southern Oregon.
Dr. Omura prides himself in maintaining awareness of new developments in the dental field and is committed towards life-long learning. His ultimate goal is to communicate and deliver the best treatment options to the patients he serves. He looks forward to helping the people of southern Oregon in any way he can with their dental restorative needs!
